These are the terms behind every Family Time Moving written quote. They’re short on purpose. Anything not covered here, call (888) 278-9005 — Dale answers questions on terms personally before the crew is booked.
The written figure
The figure Dale signs off on is the figure you pay. It covers crew, truck, fuel, mileage, materials supplied, cargo coverage, and workers’ comp. The figure changes only with your written go-ahead during the walk-through, in two cases: an inventory bigger than what Tyler saw, or access materially different from what was disclosed.
Deposit and payment
| Item | Detail |
|---|---|
| Booking deposit | $75, credits to final bill |
| Refund window | Full refund if canceled 5 or more days before the move |
| Balance due | On move day, after walk-through |
| Accepted | Cash, card, check |
| Not accepted | Cash above $500 without prior arrangement |
Cancellation
Cancel 5 or more days before the move: full deposit refund. Cancel after that window but more than 48 hours out: deposit credits to a reschedule within 90 days. Cancel inside 48 hours of the move: deposit forfeit, since the crew and truck are already blocked off for you. Reschedules requested in writing through the contact page.
Access & your obligations
- Clear the lane — gate codes, low branches, or a locked farm gate flagged ahead of the crew’s arrival
- Truck parking or turnaround space at both ends (we’ll advise on tight spots)
- Active utilities at destination (lights, water, HVAC)
- Disclose access changes (long driveway, steep grade, narrow bridge) before signing
- Confirm any gravel or seasonal-road conditions that might affect the truck
Items outside our coverage
Hazardous materials (paint thinner, propane, ammunition), perishables not packed in dry ice, cash and jewelry (carry these yourself), live plants on interstate runs (USDA rules), and pets. We’ll flag it on the walk-through if anything in your inventory falls on this list.
Cargo claims
Released-value coverage is included at no extra cost (60¢/lb per item under federal rule). Damage claims go in writing to Dale inside 9 months of delivery; we acknowledge inside 30 days and resolve inside 120, per US DOT timelines.
Liability cap
Our liability is capped at the declared valuation of the shipment plus the cost of the move. Indirect, consequential, or punitive damages are not covered. Kansas law governs; venue is Miami County.
