Family Time Moving isn’t a name a marketing agency landed on — it’s the actual point of the company. The family who quotes your move is the family who carries your furniture out the door, every single job.
Ten Years Before the First Truck
Dale Hutchins grew up on his family’s land off Old Kansas City Road, hauling hay and running equipment before he ever backed a moving truck up to somebody’s porch. For ten years he ran odd-hauling jobs and small local moves out of a borrowed flatbed, learning every gravel lane in Miami County long before there was a company name to put on a door.
One Truck, 2009
Dale started Family Time Moving in 2009 with his wife Carol and a single truck, on a rule that still runs the business: the people who quote your move are the same people who load it. No dispatcher, no rotating labor pool.
The Family on the Crew
- Carol Hutchins has run the office since day one — she still answers the phone herself most days.
- Tyler Hutchins, Dale and Carol’s son, joined in 2017 and walks most homes in person before writing a number.
- Cole Whitfield came aboard in 2013, grew up two farms down from the Hutchins place, and leads crews through Osawatomie, Paola, and Louisburg — family after this many years.
- Megan Hutchins, Dale and Carol’s daughter, joined in 2019 and runs the Ottawa/Garnett route plus every long-distance job.
Still Working Out of Old Kansas City Road
Four trucks now instead of one, but the address hasn’t moved and neither has the rule. See where we run, read what customers say, or get a number in writing.
